VSA Suckers vs Roadkill Kings Game Review
Soccer Field 10B - October 18, 2000

This game was the first game that I was able to come and cheer for the VSA soccer team, the Suckers. I could not make myself stayed around long enough for game time at around 7:30 PM before. Anyway, this game was the last game before the playoffs. The VSA Suckers would make the playoffs regardless of the outcome of this game.

It was an exciting game. The tempo was fast and furious. Both sides pushed the ball up the field frequently only to be stopped by the defenders. The Roadkill Kings scored the first 4, 5 points of the game before the VSA Suckers managed to score two points to make the game more respectable.

The VSA Suckers lost the game for many reasons. The lack of replacement players was one glaring weakness. The other team had plenty of players available for substitutions. Most of the VSA players played the whole game without a break. I was tempted to volunteer but I didn't know whether doing that would help or only made it worse! Second, there was nothing for the VSA players to use in half-time to regain their energies. There was no water to drink, no snack to chew on, and especially no cheerleaders to cheer them on (Quye^n was the only female presented) <g>. Guys always do better when there are ladies around for them to impress!

The VSA player who played pretty well was Tra`. He was all over the place attacking and defending. Qui, Hie^`n, Khoa, and Tua^'n (?) played well also. Vu~ was the only weakness in this team. He was also all over the place but accomplished very little. Well, he is still young and with more practice he will get a lot better. Beside, he was there in the game and played with a lot of energy, which was more than I can say for myself and others. So give two thumbs up for Vu~.

The VSA Suckers' next opponent will be even tougher than the Roadkill Kings. So they will need plenty of help. Quye^n promised to bring water to the game. I will try to be there as well (I don't know when it will be!). So come out and cheer for your VSA Suckers.
